Innovation Ecosystem Lifecycles
Felix will present new insights from his research on innovation ecosystem lifecycles. Drawing on comparative analyses of patenting and venture capital data across major metropolitan regions, his study offers the first formal framework for identifying how ecosystems emerge, grow, mature, and renew over time. The presentation bridges theoretical and empirical advances, building on the MIT REAP frameworks, with practical implications for investors, policymakers, and ecosystem builders.

*Felix’s research focuses on the governance and lifecycle dynamics of innovation ecosystems, combining perspectives from industrial economics, innovation studies, and political economy. Before joining TUM, he worked at the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO), reflecting his strong interest in technology research and applied innovation.
