Rob will be discussing how technology, finance, and national security intersect, and how we can significantly elevate the role of finance and capital markets in supporting national security. He’ll be using a soon-to-be-published paper from the Atlantic Council (attached) as a foundation to talk about creating a new kind of financial institution for NATO, essentially a NATO bank. His focus will be on the nuts and bolts of how this idea works, the challenges that come in making it a reality, and the impact of weaving finance more deeply into the fabric of national security. We'll look at what this could mean for the future, especially in terms of bringing together people from finance and security to work towards common goals and why it is difficult gaining traction on what might be coined as 'big ideas'.
